Eddie L. Smith

Singer. Songwriter. Guitarist.

Born and raised in Memphis, Tn his musical roots started in church as young child learning how to play guitar and sing harmony parts. As he grew up, he and his dad Gene would accompany gospel groups in the area with whatever they needed. Either with Gene on bass with Eddie playing drums, or Eddie playing bass while his dad played guitar.

“My family was pretty musical and I’ve always loved to pick and sing, it’s a family craft I guess.”

After a few years of kid bands and high school parties, it was onto the local club scene in Memphis. These shows would always include Eddie’s acoustic solo set.

“The response from my acoustic sets led me to believe I could make a career and life of this.”

In 2010, he released “Stayin’ Long” (title cut written by Eddie), it was well received and still a fan favorite. In 2017, he released “Legacy; The Memphis Sessions”, which he says is a tribute to the great musicians that he has been blessed to befriend and worked with.

“It was quite the experience to make and you’ll have to read the liner notes to get the whole story.”
